The 4th Iraqi International Fair opened its doors to visit at the Gaziantep Middle East Fair Center today (May 21). The opening ceremony was attended by State Minister Zafer Çağlayan, Justice and Development (AK) Party deputies to Gaziantep Fatma Şahin, Mehmet Erdoğan and Mehmet Sarı, Jaber Muhammed Abbas Al Jabar, Iraqi Deputy Culture Minister and special representative to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri El Maliki, Iraqi Trade Ministry's General Director of Fairs Hashim Hatem, Iraqi Parliament member Mahma Halil Kasım, Baghdad Governor Salah Salem Abdelrazaq Al Hameed, Gaziantep Governor Süleyman Kamçı, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Asım Güzelbey, Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Chairman Nejat Koçer, Gaziantep Chamber of Trade Chairman Mehmet Aslan, Forum Fairs and Development Co. Inc. Board of Directors Chairman Bilgin Aygül, as well as a great many high-ranking Turkish and Iraqi bureaucrats. Iraqi Trade Minister Abdulfalah Al Sudany was unable to attend the opening ceremony due to his health problems.

The highest level of participation in Urumqi is from Turkey...
17th Urumqi International Trade Fair was opened for visits by the State Minister Kürşad Tüzmen and his delegation on September 1, 2008 (Monday). Assistant Minister of Commerce of PRC Fang Aiqing, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Yu Ping and Vice-Chairman of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Hu Wei participated in the opening ceremony of Turkish Exposition. 1780 stands were opened in the fair to which more than 10.000 firms’ representatives from totally 18 countries participated. Turkey opening stands over a 1500 m<sup>2</sup> area in 2 halls achieved the highest level of participation in the organization with 28 firms.

Iraq Fair ends with more than 50,000 visitors
Estimates on the number of visitors proved to be right in the last day of the 3rd International Fair. The fair was toured by more than 50,000 visitors, including more than 3.500 Iraqi people and other visitors from 35 countries. The Iraq International Fair, which has a different structure from other international fairs with its characteristic as a platform that creates great opportunities so that actors of a newly emerged market in the post-war era get to know the businessmen who are preparing themselves for doing business in Iraq, reached its goal this year as well.
The fair, jointly organized by Forum Fairs and Promotions Co. Inc. and the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, ended. The fair was toured by professional visitors from 35 countries, including mostly Iraq, Syria, Korea, Jordan, China, France, the Netherlands, United States of America and Italy. The fair, which was toured by more than 50,000 visitors, was also visited by high-ranking ministers and bureaucrats from Iraq and chairmen of Iraqi Union of Chambers of Commerce and other chambers of commerce affiliated to it.

Tüzmen: “Iraqi Fair achieved its goal”
State Minister Kürşad Tüzmen stated that there was a great interest in the 3rd Iraq International Fair which was underway in Gaziantep and that the fair had achieved its goal.
Tüzmen met with three guest Iraqi ministers at the inauguration of the fair and said that the trade volume between Turkey and Iraq would reach 5 billion American dollars next year. Tüzmen said that Turkish investors were dealing with both infrastructure and superstructure projects in Iraq, adding, “Iraq enjoys very important possibilities. Turkish firms can furnish more services there.”

3rd International Iraq Fair, which was inaugurated with the participation of
three Iraqi ministers and a great number of high-ranking bureaucrats. The 3rd
Iraq Fair was opened by State Minister Kürşad Tüzmen, Iraqi Trade Minister
Abdulfalah Hassan al-Sudani, Minister of Construction and Housing Byan Dzayee
and Water Resources Minister Abdul Latif Rashid, who also replied to questions
from press members and the businessmen attending the fair.
